The Rame Roam - Celebrating the Rame Head Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Rame Head AONB may be the smallest of the 12 AONBs in Cornwall but amply makes up its relative small size with stunning and varied scenery, abundant wildlife, spectacular seascapes and picturesque villages, all steeped in a wealth of historical interest.

Join us in celebrating our AONB by taking part in a carefully curated walk that aims – as closely as possible – to encircle the Rame Head AONB and take you past some of its many treasures, including recently excavated and little known historic military installations designed to resist invasions from the Continent, and through the glorious Mt Edgcumbe Country Park where 50 fine listed buildings a jostle for attention. There’s a 9m obelisk dedicated to a pet pig called Cupid, an iron age fort, a romantic grotto built in honour of a royal visit and much, much more.

The route will take you through ancient woods and fine parkland, close by a national collection of beautiful camellias, along glorious sections of the South West Coast Path, through picturesque villages and undulating countryside. The views along the route are among the finest in the world.

We would love to know how many people take part in the Roam Rame walk so we encourage you to register below. There is no charge for taking part in the walk but we hope you will consider making a contribution to the very expensive current legal case we are currently pursuing to stress the importance of protective environmental legislation within AONBs.
