Using the Interactive Map
Click on any route section or monument for more information. You can navigate by clicking and dragging the map. To zoom, please use either your mouse or touchscreen, or the controls in the top right corner. The symbols are scale dependent, so you’ll need to zoom in to display them all.
Using the buttons below you can also download detailed information on the route as a pdf, a printable version of the map and kml files of both the route and the monument locations. These should work with Google Maps or any smartphone mapping application, in case you want to be able to pinpoint your location on the route when you’re out on the walk.

Practical Information
COVID-19:
Our understanding of the current Tier 1 / Tier 2 rules is that up to six people can walk together in the open air. Please do check for up-to-date information and abide by all relevant COVID recommendations, including carrying with you a face covering and hand sanitiser.
START:
As the maps above make clear, we propose that you start your walk in a clockwise direction from Maker Heights where you can park without charge and where the excellent Canteen might be open for refreshments.
FOOTWEAR:
Walking boots are recommended.
DISTANCE:
The Roam Rame walk covers a distance of approximately 24 km and can be completed over number of days. If you plan to complete the walk in one day, we recommend a 0900 start. The route incudes a number of suggested deviations to allow you to visit some of the many listed monuments on the way. Parts of the track will be muddy and we can guarantee you will not look as clean at the end as at the beginning. There are some steep ascents and descents but, especially if achieved over two days, it should be manageable by those of moderate fitness. The usual countryside rules apply – leave only your footprints behind and close all gates carefully.
DOGS:
Within the Mt Edcumbe Country Park, dogs will need to be kept on a lead within the Formal Garden and when crossing the Deer Park. There is a stile when you leave the Deer Park, but a nearby gate offers a dog-friendly alternative. Another stile at Section 8 poses no problems for the vast majority of dogs but if your dog does not care for stiles, the Section 9a deviation will avoid it.
